World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has continued his dominant run, surpassing Rafael Nadal’s impressive streak of consecutive Masters 1000 victories. The 24-year-old Italian secured his 24th straight win at this elite level of competition by defeating Elmer Moller 6-2, 6-3 in the third round of the Madrid Open.

This latest triumph sees Sinner eclipse Nadal’s best run of 23 consecutive Masters 1000 wins, a testament to his consistent performance over the past year. During this remarkable streak, Sinner has collected titles at several prestigious tournaments:

  • Paris Masters
  • Indian Wells
  • Miami Open
  • Monte Carlo Masters

Sinner’s humble response to GOAT talk

Sinner’s exceptional form has inevitably led to comparisons with the sport’s all-time greats, including Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer. However, the Italian star remains grounded, dismissing any suggestions that he belongs in the same conversation as the “Big Three” at this stage of his career.

When asked if he compares himself to these legends, Sinner told SportBible: “No, not really. I always said, and I continue to say, I don’t, I cannot compare myself with these names. They did so much stuff in their career, I’m just in the beginning. Yeah, they are different level, you know. For me, I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to play as many matches as possible. But what they did, it’s something else. I just try to give everything I have a hundred percent in every match. If I win, good. If not, I tried my best and I don’t have regrets. So that’s it.”

Madrid Open favourite eyes further records

Despite his humility, Sinner’s current trajectory places him among the most formidable players on the tour. His 24 consecutive Masters 1000 wins now position him closer to the all-time records held by Roger Federer (29) and Novak Djokovic (31). Should Sinner go on to win the Madrid Open title, he would extend his streak to 28 consecutive Masters 1000 victories, putting him just one shy of Federer’s record.

With Carlos Alcaraz having withdrawn from the Madrid Open, Sinner is now widely considered the firm favourite to lift the trophy. His next challenge in the fourth round will be against British star Cameron Norrie, as he continues his quest for another Masters 1000 title and further extends his historic run.
