Harry Kane has picked Paris Saint-Germain as favourites to win the Champions League this season, hours before the 2026-27 league-phase draw in Monaco.
Kane’s verdict came in an interview with FourFourTwo.
“PSG are back-to-back champions. It’s going to be really difficult,” Kane said.
“There’s so many top teams that you have to beat to be European champions.”

Luis Enrique’s side lifted the trophy a second time in a row at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest on 30 May, beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw across 120 minutes. It made them the first club to retain the trophy since Real Madrid’s three-in-a-row between 2016 and 2018.
The same PSG side ended Kane’s own European run last season, knocking Bayern out of the 2025-26 tournament in the semi-finals.
“Against PSG was tough match-ups, Marquinhos, Pacho, two great defenders,” Kane said.
“They are probably the two that stand out.”

Bayern go into Monaco in Pot 1
The 2026-27 league-phase draw takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco at 6pm local time on Thursday. Each of the 36 clubs will be handed eight opponents, two from each pot, with half at home and half away.
Bayern sit in Pot 1 alongside PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. Matchday 1 runs from 8 to 10 September.
Kane closed the 2025-26 Bundesliga season with 36 goals in 31 matches, a third straight Golden Boot in Germany, and 14 more in the Champions League. His total across all competitions reached 61.
Contract talks moving, but no rush
On his own future, the 33-year-old has cooled the summer’s speculation about a Premier League return. Talks about a new deal at Bayern are moving without pressure, he told German magazine Kicker.

“We obviously said we wanted to talk after the World Cup and after my holiday,” Kane said.
“We’re calm; I think they’re calm with the situation.”
Bayern’s set of eight opponents will be known by early evening in Monaco.
