Man Utd preparing bid to sign Brazilian wonderkid dubbed ‘new Neymar’
Manchester United’s recruitment planning is extending well beyond the upcoming transfer window, with the club continuing to identify emerging talent for the future as part of INEOS’ long-term strategy.
One of the latest names on their radar is a highly rated teenager in Brazil, where European clubs are increasingly focusing their scouting efforts.
United exploring deal for Palmeiras teenager
Brazilian outlet UOL reports that Manchester United are preparing to submit an offer for Palmeiras prospect Eduardo Conceicao, with a fee in the region of €40 million (£34.8 million) under consideration.
Initial conversations between the club and the player’s representatives have been described as positive, encouraging United to move toward a more formal approach. While no official bid has yet been lodged, the Premier League side appear ready to test Palmeiras’ resolve.

The pursuit reflects a broader recruitment model under INEOS, combining short-term squad improvements with early investment in high-upside young players.
Why Conceicao is attracting attention
Conceicao, 16, has yet to make his senior debut for Palmeiras but is already being tracked by several top European clubs. His rapid rise has led to comparisons with other recent Brazilian breakout talents, including Endrick and Estevao.
He further enhanced his reputation at the South American Under-17 Championship, where he scored twice and registered two assists as Brazil secured a third-place finish.
Primarily an attacking player, Conceicao is valued for his ability to operate across the front line, along with his pace, close control, and creativity in one-on-one situations traits often associated with Brazil’s most exciting prospects.

Financial and regulatory hurdles remain
Any deal, however, is unlikely to be straightforward. UOL indicates that Palmeiras are seeking at least €50 million (£43.5 million), while the player’s contract reportedly includes a €100 million (£87 million) release clause.
In addition, FIFA regulations governing the international transfer of minors mean Conceicao would not be eligible to join Manchester United until he turns 18 in December 2027. As a result, any agreement would likely involve a delayed transfer or pre-contract arrangement.
Part of a wider strategic shift
United have faced criticism in recent years for missing out on some of the world’s top young talents, often losing ground to rivals with more established global recruitment networks.
Targeting a player like Conceicao at an early stage could signal a more proactive approach. Securing emerging prospects before their value escalates has become a key tactic for elite clubs looking to build sustainably while remaining competitive.
