DeMar DeRozan is next. That is the name now sitting 64 points above Curry on the NBA’s all-time scoring list after Curry moved into 17th place with a 3-pointer at the 7:03 mark of the first quarter on Thursday, pushing his career total to 26,711 and past Oscar Robertson’s 26,710.
Curry finished with 29 points on 9-of-19 shooting, with six made threes, as Golden State beat Miami 120-100 at Chase Center. It was a sixth straight win for a team that opened the season 0-3 and is now 6-3.
Curry drops 14 in the third
Curry was flat before the break. He shot 2-of-10 in the first half for seven points, and the teams traded punches to a 53-53 halftime tie.
Then he flipped it. Curry went 7-of-9 from the field after halftime and 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, dropping 14 points in the third quarter as Golden State outscored the Heat 26-9 over the decisive stretch.

Around him, the supporting cast held up. Yaxel Lendeborg, in a surprise start, added 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists; Draymond Green dished a season-high 11 assists; and Georges Niang had 13 off the bench. Golden State shot 39% from distance, going 16-for-41 from three.
Miami’s reshaped roster finds no answer
The Heat got 20 points and 14 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo, and 22 points with eight assists from Davion Mitchell. Bam Adebayo had 18 and 10. Klay Thompson, now in a Miami jersey against his former teammates, added 11.
Next up: 64 points to DeRozan
Curry has climbed into a cluster of names he could realistically pass this season. DeMar DeRozan’s 26,775 is 64 points away, and Hakeem Olajuwon sits at 26,946, 235 points from Curry’s current total. The top 10, where Shaquille O’Neal holds 10th with 28,596 points, is a longer road.
The Warriors host Orlando at Chase Center on Saturday.
