As the 2026 US Open enters its final week in New York City, the on-court drama has been plentiful, from Novak Djokovic’s shock first-round exit to Serena and Venus Williams’ absence from post-match press conferences. Yet, for many attending fans, an equally notable aspect of the tournament is the premium price tag attached to courtside refreshments and dining.

Signature sips come at a steep price

Spectators looking to enjoy a drink while watching the action are finding cocktails priced well over $20. The tournament’s ubiquitous signature cocktail, the Grey Goose Honey Deuce, costs $23.00. Other alcoholic options are similarly priced:

  • Dobel Tequila Ace Paloma: $22.00
  • Wine (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé): $19.50
  • Chandon Brut (California) wine: $20.00

Beer options range from $10 to $20, with cans of Heineken and Heineken Silver priced at $16.50, and a Lagunitas IPA can at $17.50. Even non-alcoholic beverages carry a significant cost, with a bottle of water close to $10 – an Evian 750ml bottle is $9.25, and a 500ml bottle is $7.25. A US Open Souvenir Soda costs $12.50, while standard sodas like Coca-Cola are $9.00.

The Honey Deuce phenomenon

Despite its premium price, the Grey Goose Honey Deuce remains a cornerstone of the US Open experience. The cocktail, made with Grey Goose vodka, lemonade, and raspberry liqueur, and garnished with tennis-ball-shaped honeydew melons, generated more than $17 million in sales last year, according to ESPN (UK). Fans purchased the iconic drink 738,459 times, highlighting its immense popularity. The logistical effort to supply this demand is considerable, with 8,000 cases of honeydew melons making a three-to-four-day journey from California to New York for the tournament.

Dining options range from classic to extravagant

Beyond beverages, the food offerings at the US Open also reflect a premium pricing strategy. A jumbo hot dog can be purchased for $11, and a portion of French fries for $9.50. However, prices quickly escalate for more substantial fare. Sandwiches, such as a hot corned beef or roasted turkey breast, are priced at $29, while a pastrami sandwich, described as the priciest “normal list” option, costs $30. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, a French Dip sandwich is $38, and a lobster roll is $39.50. At the very top end, caviar nuggets are available for a staggering $100 per portion.

These prices underscore the significant investment fans make to attend and enjoy the US Open, extending well beyond the ticket cost to every aspect of the tournament experience.
