Carrick breaks silence on Manchester United future as top four fight heats up
Uncertainty has hovered over the Manchester United dugout in recent weeks, but Michael Carrick has made clear he wants to remain part of the club’s long term plans.
Speaking to the BBC, in comments later reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Carrick addressed questions about whether he sees himself staying beyond the current campaign.
Carrick outlines commitment to Manchester United
“For me, it's the ultimate role. I'm really enjoying it, I love what I'm doing. I'm fortunate”, Carrick told the BBC, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The former Manchester United midfielder acknowledged that his future is not entirely in his own hands.

“I don't decide how long that's going to be but I love being here and and while I'm here, I'll give everything I can. And I always plan for the long-term future for the benefit of the football club”, he told the BBC.
His comments suggest a desire for continuity at Old Trafford, particularly at a time when stability has often been in short supply.
Premier League table adds pressure
Manchester United are currently fourth in the Premier League with 45 points from 26 matches. Chelsea sit just behind on 44 points, while Liverpool have 42, leaving the race for Champions League qualification finely balanced with 12 games remaining.
According to data projections published by BeSoccer, statistical models currently forecast Manchester United to finish inside the top four. Even so, the margins are narrow and a short run of poor results could quickly shift the picture.

For Carrick, the emphasis appears to be on steady progress rather than short term noise. While the table will ultimately define the season, his public stance centers on building foundations that last beyond a single campaign.
Stability key as season enters decisive phase
With a dozen fixtures left, Manchester United’s immediate priority is clear, secure enough points to remain in the Champions League places. At the same time, Carrick’s remarks underline a broader objective, reinforcing structure and long range planning at one of England’s most scrutinized clubs.
Whether that vision aligns with the club’s decision makers will become clearer in the months ahead. For now, results and direction are moving side by side.
