The rumour, published on Wednesday by CaughtOffside, frames the Germany international as a name Bayern’s recruitment team has never quite filed away. It is speculation rather than a move, and it lands at a curious moment. Woltemade only signed for Juventus on loan from Newcastle United on 1 September, with the deal running until 30 June 2027.
Bayern have chased Woltemade before. They pursued him last summer, only to balk at Newcastle’s asking price and watch Stuttgart’s German Cup winner leave for the Premier League on a reported £69m fee. In February, Sky Germany reporter Christian Falk wrote that Bayern still admired the striker and suggested a door could open if Newcastle softened their valuation.
The fee has always been Bayern’s sticking point. Honorary president Uli Hoeness was blunt about it on SPORT1’s Doppelpass in September 2025.
“He isn’t worth the 90 million. That only happened because of the money flowing from Saudi Arabia,” Hoeness said.

A stalled start on Tyneside
Woltemade arrived in England on the back of a 12-goal Bundesliga season with Stuttgart. The Premier League proved less accommodating. He returned 11 goals and six assists in 53 appearances for Newcastle across his first season, only eight of them from 34 league matches, thin numbers for a £69m striker.
Juventus took him for a reported €4m loan fee, without an option to buy. Two weeks into the move designed to restart his year, he is being written about as a Bayern target again.
Kane in no hurry to leave
The other half of the story sits in Munich. Kane is 33, in the final year of his current contract, and publicly optimistic about extending it.
“The talks started last week, so far, so good,” Kane told Abendzeitung on 28 August. “I’m 33, so this will probably be my last contract, well, big contract. It’s looking pretty good.”

Bayern reportedly want a two-year extension to 2029; Kane is pushing for three. Until that gap closes, no serious search for a No. 9 has been forced on the club, and no fresh contact between Bayern and Woltemade has been reported since last summer.
The dates now line up in an awkward way. Woltemade’s Juventus loan expires on 30 June 2027. Kane’s current Bayern contract runs out the same summer.
